Dinner For 8
February 26, 2020
1:00pm – 1:00pm
Dinner For Eight is a fun and easy way for people from Riverdale Church to connect and get to know
each other better, simply by sharing a meal together.
How do I join a group?
Just fill out the D8 registration form for you and your spouse (if applicable). Once the registration
window has ended, groups will be formed. At that point, a Group Coordinator will contact members to
arrange the details about when and where their group will meet.
What do the groups look like?
We will take family size into consideration when putting groups together, but generally speaking, groups
will have approximately 8 adults. The groups could be comprised of either all couples, or a mix of
couples and singles. It all really depends on who signs up for the experience.
What happens at Dinner for Eight?
Groups have the choice of meeting at a local restaurant or getting together in a host home. The point of
this time is to have fun and enjoy some good fellowship. So, you don’t have to be a master chef to
participate! Some home-groups may prefer to have a pot-luck style experience and others may choose to
have the host home provide the main course and everyone else bring a side-dish to share. Group
Coordinators will help to work out these details for each group.
Along with dinner, we would encourage groups to set aside some extra time to connect with each other
before or after the meal. You may consider playing a board game or just having some additional time to
chat over coffee and dessert.
What About Kids?
Each group can decide if they would like to include children. If you would like your children to
participate in the experience, please note that on your registration form. Some groups may also want to
consider pooling resources to have an ‘on-site’ babysitter for the night.
